web clipping, presidents, schedules, prodigies, and flat-earthers.
have you been productive this week?
Hello, everyone! 🌲
I hope you all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving! It has been a bizarre week of relaxing and full-on studying as finals come up but I found some really great resources/articles I think you all will love.

⚡️ I have about 25 pages of final essays due next week and I have been fully utilizing Notion to create outlines. Combining the Notion web clipper with the flexibility of the blocks is a really powerful tool to move ideas around quickly. I’m also a really big fan of this framework developed by Harvard University to analyze my sources.
⚡️ No matter who you support, it is interesting to see the limitations of a president after they leave office. This video details the various changes in lifestyle for America's highest office during and after their transition to post-presidential life such as never being able to drive on a public road again, a complete lack of privacy, lifetime mail and phone surveillance, and so much more. Just think about all of the things you enjoy doing every day- going to dinner with friends, going for a walk -and learn about how any one of these activities becomes a huge undertaking for ex-Presidents.
⚡️ If you know me, you know I love, love, love schedules. Having certain blocks of days devoted to certain tasks make my life much easier and much less stressful. That's why when I found this fantastic video "The Schedule That Changed My Life | Anatomy of a Balanced Productivity Schedule", I was stoked. This is a great breakdown of a solid schedule for productivity in quarantine (especially as endorsed by an ex-plastic surgery resident).
⚡️ One of the most impressive achievements to me is creating and building in public at a young age. Tika, a 14-year-old from England is a perfect example of this. He has built a simple assignment organization app for students (and even professionals) that works so well and even placed #4 on Product Hunt against some really big companies.
Think about it: Science (which, you could argue, is also a form of fact checking) has been around for centuries trying to debunk most religious beliefs – and yet religion still plays a major role in Western society. If entire education systems teaching millions of people about science haven’t worked, why do you think adding a small fact check disclaimer below a YouTube video would?
⚡️ The above quote is a really interesting look at the core of science and conspiracy theories. Can any of you explain why the earth isn't flat in an absolutely scientific way? Julian writes in his blog (possibly my favorite blog) at Julian.digital that science is essentially just another belief system. He combines this brilliantly with modern-day issues and really makes his readers rethink some of the existing paradigms we hold dear.
Notion Templates 🌲
I absolutely love this Getting Things Done Notion database introduced by Kharma Medic this week. It features items from David Allen's book and is actually a really effective way to construct your task list. It actually almost made me switch away from Things 3! I highly, highly recommend checking this out. There is no pre-made template but if you are interested you can build it pretty easily using these two examples:
This simple habit tracker is also pretty slick:
Thanks for reading the 19th issue of HumanOS!

P.S. I added a few more fantastic Notion templates for you all to use, check them out!
