Hello, everyone! 🌲
I hope you all are well!
It's been quite a busy week for moving back to Evanston (in case you are new here, I am a student over at Northwestern University).
Before you read on, I have one question for you: what is your New Year's resolution?
For me, getting back in shape is a huge priority. This takes the form of MyFitnessPal and Simple, two apps that help me track my macronutrients and intermittent fasting schedule. I highly recommend checking them out!
As a special treat, every resource in this week's newsletter is free. How many other newsletters can provide that kind of research? 😎
If you are new here, feel free to subscribe to receive hand-picked insights like this every week!
⚡️ As most people around the country embark on year-long resolutions, I started searching for a simple, powerful, and most importantly, free app that tacks habits. That is exactly how I came across everyday, a simple and beautiful habit tracker with extremely customizable colors and themes that allows you to not only work on building habits, but breaking them as well. I'm definitely going to be using this!
⚡️ Although COVID has slowed down travel, I wanted to highlight an app that I have been using for some time now called Swarm. It essentially lets you save places you visit to reference later. You will never again have to wonder what the name of a restaurant you ordered from was or all the places you traveled last Saturday. Swarm does it for you!
⚡️ My year started back up this past Monday (I know, super early compared to other colleges), and I have been searching for the perfect note-taking tool to start the quarter off right. I've gone from OneNote to Notion to Notability to Goodnotes, but have always struggled to find a workflow that works well for me. Lately I've been working with ObsidianMD (look out for future reviews on that) to create a second brain of sorts but have found a lot of clarity with a review on note-taking tools by Ness Labs. Check out the article here!
⚡️ If you use the Google Suite (Google Docs, Slides, etc.) extensively, you are going to want to check this out. gSweets is a chrome extension that creates some really powerful keyboard shortcuts for Google Docs and Slides. It is based on Notion's workflow and is super intuitive. For example, /table will create a table, /emoji will insert emojis, and /unsplash will pull up unsplash galleries. Check it out here!
⚡️ I was really honored to be invited on a podcast called NoCode Wealth by my friend Abdul last month and the episode released just last week! I had a great time chatting about starting this newsletter, Notion, and other productivity tips for students and professionals. It got some really great reviews and I would appreciate it if you check it out here!
Notion Templates 🌲
This isn’t a full template but I LOVE this Notion Cover Pack (and many of her other digital products) by The Productivity Bar. You can get it here!
I also found this great Recipe and Shopping List Manager. You can get it here!
It's been quite a crazy week for the US but I hope you all are safe and well. If you're interested, you can check out last week's issue on time-blocking and my new favorite task manager Sorted³. I'm hoping to continue to obtain free exclusives for members of the HumanOS community.
Thanks for reading the 23rd issue of HumanOS!

P.S. I added a few more fantastic Notion templates for you all to use, check them out!
