Happy New Year! 🌲
I have been working with a new productivity app these past few weeks that I am confident will completely change the way you approach your work in 2021.
But first, if you are new here don’t forget to…
Sorted³
I want to quickly note that I am not directly affiliated with the Sorted³ team in any way. I have been using the app for the past month and have been incredibly impressed with the functionality and robustness it offers. As a Things 3 user, I can fully attest to the necessity of having a task manager that has both speed and power.
⚡️ In the last 3 years since I started using apps to boost productivity, there has been one constant: Things 3. I found the simplicity and raw power of the app as a champion of what task managing should be.
Things 3 is fantastic for that- pure task managing. But with the advent of Notion, Superhuman, and the vast suite of digital productivity apps that have saturated the field in the last year, I started searching for apps that automate many of the habits I have built.
About 5 weeks ago I came across Sorted³. While I was apprehensive to switch over from a very solid application that has gotten me this far, after experimenting with the software and loving its responsiveness, I couldn’t live without the functionality.
Here are a few reasons why.
⚡️ Time-blocking.
This is a vastly powerful practice that can completely shift the way you value your time. Elon Musk is a large proponent of this.
Block your time or lose it forever
Even better: hyper-schedule your time. Time-blocking is a habit that sets aside time to do certain things. Hyper-scheduling is assigning something to do every 30 minute block of the day.
Sorted³ is built for this. Alongside the auto-scheduler mentioned later on, it has buttery-smooth time adjustment for the multiple tasks and events you have planned throughout the day.
⚡️ How do I time-block/hyper-schedule effectively?
⚡️ How does Sorted³ help?
This is the true power of Sorted³ as a task manager. Not only does it allow you to input tasks efficiently, but integrates calendar events and provides a truly unique feature: auto-schedule.
This feature allows you to input buffers, set durations for each tasks, and massively evolves the way you budget your time. I've been so impressed with this functionality.
⚡️ I have been so pleased with so many aspects in Sorted³'s repertoire. Some of my personal favorites are the full markdown support, intuitive shortcuts, quick time adjustments, and handwritten notes! Yes, I said HANDWRITTEN notes support in a task manager.
⚡️ With all this being said, there are two limitations: cross-system support and deadlines.
This is only available in the Apple ecosystem. If you primarily working on other platforms, I recommend looking elsewhere until the Sorted³ team finishes the web app. With that in mind, the iPhone and iPad apps are incredibly well-developed and are fully suitable as the primary drivers in your task management even if you are a Windows/Android/Linux user.
The only feature that is holding me back from declaring Sorted³ my new favorite task manager is the inability to set deadlines for a task. As a student, this is an integral part of my workflow. However, I've brought this up multiple times with the amazing Slack community and it seems like a feature that is on their minds!
I am stoked to announce that since I am such a big fan of Sorted³, I have been given a few FREE full versions of the iOS app- just go to the iOS App Store and paste one of these codes:
YM9HHLE4YT4P
X6L73XT6P7EX
Be quick though, each one only works once. I’d love to hear if you were able to snag one!
Many thanks to Reza for this offer.
If you were too late to the codes, I urge you to download the app and try it out for yourself- the free tier is free forever. Even better, unlike many of the other premium task managers, Sorted³ is an affordable $15 lifetime purchase for both iPhone and iPad together (a cost well worth the boost in productivity and hours of time you will reclaim). There is also a MacOS app available!
Happy New Year folks!
